
Nicholas Wessling, M.D. is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with dual fellowship training in sports medicine and foot & ankle surgery. With this specialized expertise, Dr. Wessling treats a broad spectrum of orthopedic conditions and traumatic injuries, with particular emphasis on shoulder, knee, foot, and ankle disorders. He has a strong interest in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including MIS bunion correction as well as arthroscopic procedures of the shoulder, knee, and ankle. He also specializes in the treatment of upper/lower extremity fractures and performs reconstructive foot and ankle procedures.
Originally from Kansas, Dr. Wessling earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Kansas. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai – St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City.
Dr. Wessling furthered his training through a Foot and Ankle Fellowship at Miami Ankle & Foot International Associates, where he gained extensive experience managing complex foot and ankle conditions and participated in the care of athletes from the Miami Dolphins. He then completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital, where he refined advanced arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of sports-related musculoskeletal injuries. During this time, he was involved in the care of athletes from the New York Jets, New York Islanders, Manhattanville College, and Hunter College.
Dr. Wessling is currently practicing with NY Orthopedics. Outside of his clinical work, he enjoys running, tennis, padel, golf and hiking.
